Description
A refinement setup is the mid-course correction of aligner treatment: a new plan based on where the teeth actually are, rather than where the original setup expected them to be.
Refinements are a normal part of aligner treatment, not a sign that something has gone wrong. Tracking varies between patients, compliance varies, and the final detailing often needs a dedicated round. What matters is that the refinement is planned as carefully as the original case.
What you receive
You take a new scan and give us access to the case in your aligner system. An orthodontist compares the current position with the treatment goal, identifies what has and has not tracked, and returns a refinement setup ready for your approval, with a brief explanation of the adjustments made.

When you need it
Order a Refinement Setup when a case planned with TPS Basic needs a further round, or when you have a case planned elsewhere that is not finishing as expected and you want a specialist to take over the refinement. If you are at the start of a case and expect it to need refinements, TPS Plus includes two and works out cheaper.
For a case that is not tracking at all, or where you are considering a change of approach, a Clinical One consultation may be a better first step than another setup.
